I recently discovered a much easier way to flatten these sheets. I have a 70’s era waffle iron with plates you can turn over to create a flat surface for pancakes or grilled cheese and the like. So I use the flat sides of the plates. Once the plates get really hot, it takes less than a minute to flatten a curled sheet. You can put more than one on the surface, but they tend to slide around while curly and I’ve found myself making perfect pleats by accident if I get impatient. But this sure beats every other flattening method because the hot bed is big enough to heat the whole can sheet at one time, no ironing movement needed. You definitely need some reliable tongs to handle the sheets, though.

i thought the mirrors were amazing.. but could come off as poor quality if they are really thin.. you could mount them on a board to give them more weight.. but they looked amazing.. i think the purse might have been too big.. stuff gets lost at the bottom of a purse like that .. love your ideas

Hi Cindy, I hope you will see my comment & answer. My question is - can I use a flattened soda can as a metal shim in my Cuttlebug embossing/ die cutting machine? I know a sheet is not big enough but I wondered if it would work for die cutting shapes smaller than the flattened sheet. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Lisa
